| Description |
Bristol was confirmed as the UK’s first Cycling City in June 2008. Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council are developing a range of initiatives to increase the number of people using cycles for work, education and play.
This fund, worth £120,000 over the next two years, has been set up by the Cycling City Team to promote cycling in areas of the city that do not have a tradition of use of cycling as a means of transport.
Applications are invited from community groups and organisations that are finding ways to encourage local people to use cycling in their everyday lives. |

The area covered by the fund is the urban area of Greater Bristol covering all of Bristol City and the areas to the north and east within South Gloucestershire. |
