TOP STORY
Over halfway to creating a £3m endowment for the West of England

Individuals and companies across the West of England have already created an endowment value of over £1.5m representing a tremendous response to this Government-funded Challenge, launched in August 2008 through Quartet Community Foundation, that offers 2:1 match funding for donations of any size.

“With just over a year still to run, the Grassroots Endowment Challenge offers people the opportunity to almost double the value of their donations when Gift Aid is included”, says Ronnie Brown, Development Director at the Community Foundation.

“Many donors have taken advantage of this opportunity to set up a Named Fund. A contribution of £7,800, when given through the Challenge, increases in value to £15,000, the starting level for a Named Fund. For higher rate tax payers the same net contribution would create a Fund worth £20,000. You can take advantage of the Challenge up until 31 March 2011”, says Ronnie.
