| Grassroots Challenge |
What is it?
The Government's £50 million Grassroots Grants Endowment initiative provides a direct cash incentive for individuals and businesses to give money to build endowed funds. This will create long term funding for local voluntary groups.
Through Quartet, the West of England has been pledged a £1 million endowment gift from the Office of the Third Sector – if local individuals and companies can raise £2 million in donations before 31 March 2011. By meeting the challenge, local communities will have secured £3 million of endowment funding, which will provide grants to meet local needs today and always.
You can help us make sure that this funding is secured for our region.
Why give now?
During the challenge, any donations you make through Quartet for use in the West of England will get a 50% government ‘top-up’. So for every £2 you give, an extra £1 is added, benefiting even more local people.
This offers notable incentives for people who give.
You donate - £1000
Gift Aid is added (subject to tax) - £282
The Challenge matches the net amount 2:1 - £641
Total donation - £1923
If you are interested in establishing your own family/business Named Fund a donation of £15,000 could create a fund worth nearly £30,000.
You can give online here, or contact Ronnie Brown on 0117 989 7700 or at ronnie.brown@quartetcf.org.uk to find out more.
